Even in first grade I was fascinated by all things medical (much
to the dismay of my dog, upon whom I regularly practiced bandaging
techniques) and knew even then that I wanted to (and would) become
a physician. My experiences in medical school solidified my interest
in plastic surgery and now, more than three decades after I first
"hung out my shingle" in 1976 as the newest member of the Pittsburgh
plastic surgery community, plastic surgery holds as much excitement
for me and provides me as much enjoyment as it did then. Indeed,
I would like to think that I am at "the top of my game", in terms
of the intersection of my technical skills, my knowledge/experience
and, most importantly, my clinical/surgical judgment. What follows
is a summary of my education, training, licensure and medically
related affiliations.
